Welcome to our house
at Saint André de Roquepertuis, we are delighted to be able to welcome you and hope that you have found your way to the Résidence de l’Acacia without too much difficulty.
If you have any questions that are not answered in this document, please contact us. You can find us somewhere on the terrace or in the grounds – we’ll be happy to help. When no member of our family is present, please email us or wait for us to return.
If you really need us you can reach us on mobile 06 04 15 87 42
On the following pages you will find general information to help you feel at home in our Residence.
For many years we have been practising tourism close to nature and in harmony with the village, its inhabitants and the residents of the house.
We therefore advise you to adapt to our ‘leisurely’ pace and relax as much as possible … .
If you have the opportunity, please add new leaflets collected during your excursions. The information point in the meeting room known as the ‘grande salle’ and the notice board in the courtyard will be delighted to be busy.
We strive to offer you reasonably-priced stays in simple accommodation.
Have a ‘zen’ spirit and enjoy the peaceful and exceptional atmosphere of the Residence, the village, and nature … .
and put into perspective the little problems that always have a solution.
Many of our guests return every year and have become friends of the house.
From the second rental, you will benefit from a 5% discount. What’s more, if you recommend our Residence to your friends after your stay, as long as they mention your name when booking, you will receive a further discount of 5% of the cost of your friends‘ stay, in addition to your 5% loyalty discount.
We therefore advise you to take some nice photos of the site … .
We wish you a pleasant stay in our house
Beck family
Arrival at the Résidence de l’Acacia
When you arrive, we recommend that you park your car at the upper entrance, ‘Rue du Ranc’, to make it easier to unload your luggage.
Deposit and parking
After depositing your deposit of ca. 200, you can move into your flat and make yourself at home.
There is a car park reserved for tenants of the Residence on the Chemin du Vallat, at the little bridge on the right, follow the signs for Chemin de la Raffine. Please do not take up any more space than you need, as there must be room for at least 9 cars, and make sure that the gate is closed for the night. We haven’t had any damage so far, but we don’t want to take the risk. Do not leave anything of value either in the car or in the flat.
Please leave the parking spaces in the narrow streets free for the residents of the village. There is also a very large car park at the entrance to the village.
Apartments, inventory and minor repairs
In the kitchen you will find crockery, cutlery, pots and pans and everything else you need for cooking during your holiday.
In the event of breakage, let us know so that we can replace the missing item, and don’t buy anything else yourself, as we’ll make sure that your household is in harmony. If you need minor repairs, you can also contact us.
Under no circumstances should you take furniture or other items out of the flat (we have already found blankets and pillows on the banks of the Cèze).
Chargeable services
Bed linen: Sheets – cover – pillowcase — 8 Euro
Towels: Small and large towels — 6 Euro
The washing machine is available every day except Saturday and Sunday 4,50 Euro
Wifi: Password for access to each computer for the duration of your stay 5 Euro
Bathroom
In the bathroom a cumulus produces hot water without you having to take care of it.
Please don’t throw anything in the bathroom to avoid any blockage that would require the intervention of someone at your expense (we have already found bottles of shampoo and a doll that have blocked the drain).
Heating
All flats have electric radiators with thermostats and on/off switches. Do not place anything on the radiators to avoid the risk of fire.
Laundry
From Monday to Friday you can use the washing machine (€4.50), iron and ironing board.
There is a clothes line in your flat and washing lines in the grounds.
Cleaning the flat and terrace
We have provided a bucket, broom, dustpan and mop in your flat. For reasons of
Television, billiards, table tennis, table football, games for all ages
… ask us for permission to use them free of charge. Please remind your children to tidy up before you leave.
The swimming pool and the banks of the Cèze
On hot days, the pools are very popular. Our small pool areas are reserved for relaxing in complete tranquillity – diving, heckling and letting off steam are all possible on the banks of the Cèze. The quality of the water in the pools and in the river is checked regularly, and the quality of the Cèze is displayed at the town hall.
In each flat you will find a swimming pool key to open the gates of our swimming pool areas. We accept no liability. Please keep the water clean so that the chemical treatment can be started and use the shower before each swim. In the event of deliberate damage, which has unfortunately already occurred, the person responsible will be asked to pay compensation.
After swimming, if there is no-one left inside, please lock the gates.
For technical reasons, the pools are closed from dusk to dawn, from 21:30 to 09:00.
Garden rest area
For your comfort, we offer a furnished area. Remember to protect yourself from the sun and don’t skimp on protective cream.
Flowers and planting
Following the floods and mudslides that followed, there was a lot of damage to the gardens and to the house, where we were knee-deep in water, and we had to renew all our green spaces. Most of the time it’s the opposite: the plants are thirsty! You can take part in the renewal of the Residence by watering the little flowers that seem to be thirsty.
Enjoy the 100% organic fruit from our orchard.
Barbecue
In the courtyard, you’ll find a barbecue available to residents every day. Of course, it should never be left unattended and it’s a good idea to keep a bucket of water handy. Charcoal is available in supermarkets, so don’t use your own woodpile. Apart from the barbecue, it is strictly forbidden by the fire brigade to start a fire anywhere else.
For example, get together with other residents to start barbecues that benefit everyone.
Cold drinks
In the meeting room, known as the ‘grande salle’, you will find a range of cold drinks, several types of wine and ice creams in the fridge. Please leave your money in the till inside the mini-bar, as we have every confidence in you.
Night rest
Holidays, relaxation and happy summer evenings are conducive to unintentional noise, which can annoy neighbours who are working the next day. After 10pm keep the noise down or go to the meeting room.
Animals 1
Do not feed stray animals, either in the flats or in the gardens. The animals will get used to it and you will be approached all day long by all sorts of beggars.
The same applies to dog/cat droppings on the terrace and by the swimming pool.
Animals 2
You’ve decided to spend your holidays in southern Europe. Think about the fauna of our region. Apart from the various types of non-venomous snakes, there are also vipers. If you are bitten, contact your nearest doctor or go straight to the emergency department at Bagnols-sur-Cèze hospital.
The scorpion in the south of France is not the same as in Africa. Don’t be alarmed if you find one, often in dry stone walls.
If you find spider webs, please excuse us, but don’t take this as a sign of a lack of cleanliness on our part – spiders are great weavers. Get the hoover or the broom or let them live – they eat other insects.
In summer, there are many insects that seek out human proximity. You can limit this problem by not leaving any food lying around, not leaving windows open with light or not regularly cleaning feeding areas.
In the event of a large number of bites, ask us for repellent plugs. Refills are available in all supermarkets.
Household waste
Please sort:
Glass, paper, cardboard — Containers for this purpose located in the large car park at the entrance to the village
Compost — Wooden bins for this purpose located in the large car park at the entrance to the village or green bin on our land
Plastic, metal, tetra — yellow bag
What’s left — Put it all in a large bin bag, seal it and put it in our black rubbish bin, labelled ACACIA, under the Pigeonnier stairs.
Telephone
For some time now, we’ve been lucky enough to have mobile phone coverage for almost the entire village.
Internet
In exchange for 5 euros, we will give you the password for your WiFi connection to a computer, which will remain the same throughout your stay. You’ll also get a free connection at the town hall.
If you don’t have a mobile PC, you can check your e-mails every day at the Goudargues Tourist Office.
Boules
There’s a boules set in each apartment, which you can use on our small boules pitch near the car park or by walking down the Calade, in the pétanque area next to the wash-house. Perhaps you’d like to organise a little get-together with other residents?
Kajak canoe hire
At the height of the season, the reception point is open every day at the foot of the Cèze bridge, but there are also many other service providers. Out of season, contact the Goudargues Tourist Office.
Climbing
There is a small equipped climbing wall on the cliff, 20 minutes‘ walk from the residence. As it is little used, it is little maintained, so please check!
At Méjanne-le-Clap, you can hire equipment and take part in the club’s activities. Contact the Goudargues Tourist Office.
Tennis
There are 2 tennis courts in the woods on the hill on the other side of the bridge. Contact the Goudargues Tourist Office.
Fishing
Trout and other fish await you. Contact the Goudargues Tourist Office.
Horse riding
There are several in the area, but we recommend ‘La Ballade du Val de Cèze’ at Bas Toupian, 5 minutes‘ drive from here, where you can go for short rides and outings in the countryside.
Camping
We are not strictly speaking a campsite but, exceptionally, you can add a tent for your accommodation in our grounds. Electricity and all the facilities of the Residence are at your disposal.
Current information and various activities
In the information corner in the courtyard or in the meeting room you can consult the current schedule and you are invited to add your suggestions. Depending on the season, we offer a variety of small activities, such as film evenings, wine or absinthe tastings, horse riding, guided walks and visits to our ‘secret’ cave at Saint-André-de-Roquepertuis, as well as themed weeks (language courses, painting courses).
It is advisable to sign up in advance to the list of participants.
Apart from that, our colleagues at the Goudargues Tourist Office will be delighted to help you.
We are obliged by law to collect the Tourist Tax, so don’t be afraid to take advantage of it.

Unfortunately all the traders have left the village, as you can now go to the supermarkets and other small traders in Goudargues by car, or even to the superstores in Bagnols-sur-Cèze.
